It is all about the glow
todays post is going to be all about my current go-to make-up look for a summer glowing complexion.
I do not have any preference in season, since for me every season has something special and adorable to it. So what I love about summer, beside the warm weather and the airy clothes I enjoy, is that my skin looks healthier and more radiant that time of the year. I just get a little tan which is perfect for any bronze goddess make-up style.
In general I am not a big fan of make-up and I prefer the no make-up make-up look over covering my skin in millions of layers. So in summertime I normally go for a lightweight foundation or BB Cream just to even out my skin tone and to protect my skin perfectly from sun damage. The new La Mer Reparative Skintint SPF 30 does a great job on both while hydrating my skin at the same time.
After priming my skin with the La Mer fluid, I dust on the new Hourglass Luminous Bronzer Light Ambient Lighting Bronzer (that is a long one :)). Focusing on the hollows of my cheeks, the sides of my forehead and my jawline-pretty much as if I would contour, though more generously- I use a much fluffier brush to add more structure to my face. This silky smooth Bronzer it probably one of the best I have tried for a long time. The medium tan brown bronzer with its warm, yellow undertones compliments perfectly my slightly tanned skin tone and the subtle golden shimmer adds a beautiful luminous glow. Here comes the bronze goddess! 😉
Regarding my eye and lip make-up, I am currently obsessed with products from Tom Ford’s Summer Look. I know that they are pricy, but are definitely worth the splurge. The Cream & Power Eyecolor in Goden Peach for example consists of two products, a copper cream eyeshadow and a light golden sparkly powder shadow. I apply both with my finger tips- the cream on my entire eyelid and the shimmer just in the inner and outer corner for daytime and also under the brow bone for an evening look.
Tom Ford’s Lip Color Sheer in Skinny Dip is a sensational lipstick. As the name suggests, it is very sheer with a hint of pink. I love the formula because it feels incredible smooth and moisturizing and leaves a superb glossy finish. And of course I had to have at least one of these summer lipsticks since their package is Tom Ford’s original, retro ivory and gold case. So beautiful!!!!
Lining my eyes with the dark-brown 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil from Urban Decay in the color Corrupt, made the look a little more smokey and evening appropriate. What is amazing about this pencils is that they have an incredible velvety-soft, creamy texture that makes it easy to apply even in the inner rim and are waterproof and gives you an forever-lasting feeling. Plus, if you do not rub too much while taking off you make-up at night, you have a nice accent left till the next morning. For mascara I am a stable on Lash Queen from Helena Rubinstein. I always think a good mascara is like a good fitting pair of jeans-you will hardly change it ever. These ones coat my lashes, which I consider just “standard”, generously and add length and volume.
To finish the look, I went for an OPI Nail Lacquer in A Good Man-darin ( Hard to Find 😉 on my nails. The vivid orange color is just great. It goes perfect with all those blues, coppers, olives and mustards from the upcoming season and adds the right umph to the rest.
As mentioned in my last post Undone Hair don’t Care, I am all about the effortlessness and easiness of a turban, especially if the hair does not want to look right, plus I think it is quite glamorous. As often, I found the silk mustard version with gold-toned dots in a small boutique in Cannes. You know what? I am really thinking about going into production… 🙂
The long orange-brown tube dress is from the new Zara Collection. It is really elegant and chic and has a beautiful neckline. I loved pairing it with multicolored bangles from Mango, gold-toned TKees flats and a light brown 2,55 Chanel for my dinner look.
