Gate to the West
ST.LOUIS. Here I come. I don’t know why but today I felt somehow very relaxed and I gave the city credit for it.
Although I had imagined myself taking a dreamy walk along the border of Mississippi River, I was not disappointed to find that the only place to enjoy some fresh river breeze would have been the Jefferson Memorial Park with the Gateway Arch. So instead, I decided to take a nice little stroll through the city. For this occasion I thought hight-waist jeans and a t-shirt would be my best companion. Adding a light camel leather jacket made it weather appropriate.
For the accessories, I went quite colorful today. The Mexican style backpack is not only convenient but also unique and fun. I got it at a little flea market. As for the rest, my bracelets and necklace, I went a little crazy on turquoise. I just love, love, love these water-blue stones. Not only that they are supposed to have protective and healing power-you never can have enough of that ;)- but I just find the color so refreshing and yet so comforting. And each of my turquoise pieces has always a special meaning to me because from where I got it.
Of course….and I know you guys probably have already been waiting for…. my good long-worn sandals were also part of todays look. They still do a great job escorting me on every step I take.
Before I forget to mention it, we finally crossed the famous Route 66. Did you know that it is only a two lane road?
