Down to earth

SANTA FE. It could not have been more beautiful nor more inviting. Pueblo style architecture in a warm brown everywhere. My point of view –  the most lovely city we have passed along the road and the most perfect finale to a great trip. We enjoyed all the well worth seeing art galleries, small artisan shops with local jewelries made of silver and the wonderful turquoise- you know, I love so much- a really good coffee and an amazing landscape.

This place felt so down to earth and comforting that I decided to go for an earthy-toned outfit myself. Greys, browns and some black. The key piece to the look, the Desert Etched Kimono I have just recently found at Anthropologie. You know those pieces that do not look much on the hanger but are wonderful once worn. Soft, lightweight and breezy-this one is defiantly a piece that I will go for quite often.

Talking accessories… Since I was unable to decide between all these beautiful turquoise pieces, I finally went for a white jade necklace made out of carved little animal shapes with a little bear right in the middle. So, so cute… and matching wonderful to the white crystal blossom ring from Swarovski Atelier I hardly wear since I feel it does not go so easy with other jewelry.

As for make-up and hair I kept it to an easy smoky eye, some bronzer and loose strands of hair. Uncomplicated, effortless and natural… Just like the day.

Do you know the feeling when you come to a foreign place and it just feels just comfortable and homelike?
